The 2024 Cap Droughtmaster Sale entered into its 38th year with the sale, cataloguing, an even line of bulls bred for commercial focus.
With this commercial focus in mind we would like to show you our end product. The most recent bullocks were trucked in January 2020 to Teys. They were fed on Commercial Focus for 104 days and averaged 2.06kg/day. The figure speak for them themselves…
- Average 321 kg dressed.
- All milk and 2 tooth
- 13mm rump fat.
- All met MSA Specifications.
Consistency is key and Commercial Focus is producing this with following combine figures from Sept 2019 of:
442 No 8 steers 4 Avg 335 kg 480% Milk/ 20% 2 tooth.

4 decks of 2 tooth steers sold to Teys this week average 351kg with 13mm of fat. Top EMA of 104 cm2 on a milk tooth 400kg carcase.
220 head No 9 steers sold over the last couple of weeks. Avg 322kg dressed. All milk and 2 tooth avg 12mm fat and all graded MSA. Heaviest steer 417kg milk tooth. Largest EMA 150cm2 on a 314kg milk tooth carcase. The interesting thing about this steer apart from such a large EMA on a relatively light carcase was the fact he had 18mm P8 fat.
4 decks of No 9 milk tooth steers sold in October avg 342kg. Heaviest milk tooth steer dressed 451kg largest EMA 122 cm2.
4 decks of Glenavon No 8 steers sold this week to Teys. Average 344 kg, average milk tooth, 13mm fat. 10 steers EMA’s over 100 square centimetres. Top of 120 square centimetres on a 356 kg 2 tooth carcase. All graded MSA.
4 decks of No. 8 Glenavon steers (88 head) average of 360 kg dressed with milk teeth sold to Teys this week.
